Bench “Plissé”
design: Michela and Paolo Baldessari – Baldessari e Baldessari
“Plissé”, a wiggly shape, a dynamic flicker in space, is obtained by assembling flat elements with scissor cuts and joints. It references the “magical” childhood game of card castles, here developed horizontally to accommodate the thin, aerial floating seat worked with bevels on the edge.
The deep shade and beautiful veining of Verde Guatemala dramatise the bench and ensure that Plissé can fit harmoniously into outdoor environments, but also integrate very well into indoor, public and private spaces, and into historical as well as contemporary spaces.
